A Child’s Innocence "When we were young”

You know how we are when we were young? everything goes for us as we wanted it (well, not really everything). But you know, we had our time of indulgence throughout our childhood. We had our toys, friends and everything. Some might say they didn’t enjoy a child’s experience in his/her time. Well, that is true, some of us had their bad experiences during their innocence. Some of us have received a lot of punishments coming from our parents. Some might say that it wasn’t for good. It all depends on how a child sees the world. I have my experiences when I was young, I have been scolded a lot, smacked a lot (Not to the extent of kneeling down on the floor with rock salt or lets say, “munggo seeds”). But never was I deprived from what I needed during that time. Although yes, sometimes, things doesn’t go our way… We had to learn.

In a child’s viewpoint, those were the times that every kid avoids. Some kids hated their parents for it. We never liked being punished when we were young. Some of us think that our parents don’t care for us. Or maybe, our parents don’t love us. “Anger” coming from them was a sign of those instances. We never really understood the reason behind, nor we never really have thought of it. We were just living our lives as we know, enjoying the days with our foolishness… “Ignorant” is the term of our time being a kid.

We had our time… But what about those on the other side of the world? what about those who never really experienced how being a kid was? What do they think? what do they see? what do they feel?… What about those kids who never felt the love and warmth of a mother? what about those who never even had a family from the start? We are blessed enough to have experienced our lives as we knew it. Most of us might still be on that same timeframe. We hated our parents for what we have experienced from the past… But how about those who experienced nothing at all? how would they relate to us? how would they see us? Looking at the eyes of a kid who was deprived of almost everything is much more painful than having to live our lives up until today…

I am an adopted child. I have hated my family before, I’ve even thought of killing them for what they’ve done to me during those days… But I’m thankful that I’ve lived my life with what I’ve experienced. I’ve learned a lot… Thanks to them… I love my family very much…

So think back on what you feel… I stumbled across these pictures, looking at the eyes of those kids just makes me cry…

What they wanted to experience is only a fragment of what we had in our time. For us, a candy treat is just a common thing.

We may not be able to help these children with how we are today. But at least, love your life for you are blessed enough to have lived your life as supposed to…

We are only humans, on this moment you might feel the need to care. The next day it might change…

Just keep in mind… Love your life…
